Approach notes

90 minutes! ...It is possible to walk in via Cwmorthin from Tan y Grisiau, or even somewhat epically from Nant Mor, however the most common approach used is from Croesor. From the National Park car park in Croesor walk along the path and road which leads north eastwards down the valley. At the last houses the road changes to a track and turns leftwards to join another track running along the valley parallel to the river. Follow this for 400m until a footpath leads off leftwards to cross a small bridge over the river. Continue on the footpath as it rises up and traverses the side of the valley. After about 1km you will reach the immaculate Pathside blocks. Perfect rock! ...Follow the path onwards until you reach the head of the reservoir dam. At this point you get your first view of the main boulder field.
