Valdemanco is a quiet small area to the northeast of La Pedriza. It offers similar climbing to La Pedriza but generally less committing and intimidating hence it is a great place to come and get some practice in before you head for the big friction slabs. The area is still picturesque and the outlook superb.
The crags on the right side of the track get the morning shade, whilst those on the left are exposed to the sun for most of the day. The area is quite high in the mountains and exposed so can be a little cooler than other crags. It will dry very quickly after rain.
Leave the A1 at junction 57 signed to La Cabrera and Valdemanco. Follow the M-610 to Valdemanco . You can also reach it from Miraflores if approaching from the west. Turn right in the village by a large memorial stone and head up the road and take the second right turn (Calle Bialle). Follow this around to the left and then turn right by a water font up the side of an all-weather football pitch. Follow the road up to parking by a cemetery.
Take the concrete track up the hill to where it heads right after 150m. Carry straight on up the gravel track to a fork by a water bath. All the crags are reached from here.
