Crag features

A small crag located just outside of Richmond, and situated in Hudswell woods on the south side of the river swale. The crag is part of the same escarpment as 'Hagg wood' which further along the valley to the west.

The crag does not get much traffic, therefore it can be quite dirty and loose in places. The crag is also north facing and in woodland, and is prone to seepage.

Approach notes

*PLEASE READ ACCESS ISSUES*

Follow the A6108 west out of Richmond, just past the cemetery a left turn is taken down a steep hill towards a caravan site and a large tarmacced parking area.  From here cross the bridge on foot and take the path up and to the right. When an open field is reached the crag is located over the fence to the right.

Access Advice

Not an ideal crag to climb at all,  approach route in is on steep, muddy and overgrown wood sided Hill. Lots of tree fall and boulders to navigate over.

if I was on the right crag which I am pretty sure I was as I have recced the coordinates on 3 occasions now, then I wouldn’t even bother.

Offers no decent working areas,  the crag itself is extremely damp, loose and dangerous. The face has also suffered with numerous rock fall over the past few years.   Don’t waiste your time it’s not worth it.
