Botneheia is outside of any nature reserves and within zone 10, therefore it does not require permission from Sysselmannen to access or camp on. It is easily accessible by Polarsirkel from Longyearbyen or, by foot, sledge or snowmobile via Adventdalen and De Geerdalen.
