The crags is the hystorical climbing spot for the local climbers (Simone Moro, among others started here to climb).
The rock is a very white limestone with small browhnish cristals that emerge in some area of the crag. The old routes are all around three towers (Garlini-Longo, Gemelli and Savina) while new routs are on the walls north to the Cornagera Labyrint (a wonderful canyon just north of the towers where for a particular geological feature created a specific cold microclima and where you can find plants typical of higher mountain ecosystems). There are very easy climb (3) as well as hard (7a-b) routes.
The crag is mainly secured by new bolts every 2-4m and the belay are provided of a chain and a belaying ring. At the north face of Gemelli towers there are some couple of bolts to learn how to built a belay. There is also the possibility to do some easy trad climbing on the east face of the Gemelli.
The place is very beautiful with a wide view of the valley. The starting points of most of the routes are on scree slopes where the sun hit hard on sunny days; on the other hand the forest is very close to the spot and can be a good place to rest.
Good topo here.
To reach the crag there are different possibilities.
At the end of the gondola lift you will reach an Hotel/restourant/bar placed over a wonderfull grass plateau with a very panoramic view (where eventually the family and the kids might spent the day). To reach the crag take the path on the right and reach a small evident chapel. From there follow down the path and enter in the forest. Once you reach a junction you can turn to the left to reach directly the spot (15 min) or take the right for a longer (25 min) detour that pass trought the Cornagera labirint (there are other junction on this way, always follow the indications "Cornagera").
