Crag features

A clean compact crag, which dries quickly after rain. The crag has mainly been used for training and local outdoor groups, and is therefore heavily bolted. Longs slings are advisabe, as some of the belay bolts are placed a little awkwardly. It may also be wise to take a small rack, especially in small to medium friends to protect the top section of some routes. There are some trad routes and many of the sport routes could be lead as trad.

Due to its altitude it can be quite cold and snow often lingers below the crag late into the season.

There are many smaller, micro crags in the area that can be explored with a traditional gear.

Approach notes

Park at Båtskaret at the large gravel parking place. Follow the path towards the clean crag of Båtskaret, but 100m from the parking, take a smaller path left up steeply over the band of broken outcrops that form an extention of Båtskaret crag to a flater area of heather. Keep heading north and Heklfjell becomes obvious.

Approach time: 15 mins

The location for this crag is incorrect the approach description is correct. The crag is situated closer to the parking near the small lake.
