Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 1718m a.s.l
Faces S
A limestone outcrop on the hill above Samye Monastery. South-facing on good quality, solid limestone rock.
The pin on the map is pretty accurate. Walk past the monastery and turn right at the water taps. After 50m turn left up the hill - in a gully. The path zigzags uphill (slippery when wet - and leeches are very friendly here in the monsoon time) to the base of the crag.
There are currently no serious access issues, but locals are begining to talk about charging for climbing. Please be curtious to everyone you meet and buy tea in the cafes near the road. Food is also available at the cafes.
There are no comments from visitors to this crag. |
