Crag features

The crag is called Shining Cliff. It was originally developed almost single handed by Andy Lewandowski in 2013.  Almost all the routes were first climbed and named by him, bouldering development by others followed later.

A limestone outcrop in the woods above the old chapel on St John' s Road Matlock Lots of low grade routes and some good bouldering in the middle section. The climbs are described from l to r.

Approach notes

Park in the main Pay and Display car park on the A6 south of Matlock. Walk up the road north (right) and take the first road on the left (St. John's Road) leading gently up the hill. Continue up here for around 400m to a small chapel. Just before this is a path on the right doubling back. Go along here which leads to the right-hand end of the crag.  Please respect the proximity of neighboring houses/gardens and leave no litter.

Trad lines are quite chossy and overgrown now. Needs a good clean.
