Camus Wall- from below the overlap on Hot Spot Spider © IanMcC

Crag features

To the southeast of Cnoc na Moine some huge overlapping quartzite slabs sweep majestically into the sea. The southern edge of one of these forms a long 10m high wall - Camus Wall, which offers some good short routes.

Approach notes

Park on the A846 about 500m south of the cattle grid (This was removed around 2019) to the south of Lagg. Which layby this is can no longer be determined. Walk in a southeasterly direction, over Cnoc na Moine to locate the crag.

OR

Park on the A846 about 100m north of the sharp corner at the top of the hill leading south out of Lagg. This is the first layby from the corner. A rough track leads onto Cnoc na Moine. Then walk slightly south of east to the crag. The large slab headland, which is the north side of the crag, comes into view first (strangely this is not obvious on the OS 1:25,000, but is on the aerial)

NOTE: The middle routes of the crag (Hot Spot Spider, Holy Terror, Shenanigans and Shilly Shally) do not have any sensible belay anchors - pack a spare rope if determined to anchor those routes. Routes at the left end have a huge pyramid block to walk the rope round, while anchors can be fashioned with initiative and patience at the right hand end.

ROCK - solid and stunning. LOCATION: Much, much harder to locate than we anticipated - photo was very helpful - defo not the most southerly of the many tiers. BELAY ANCHORS - the middle routes of the crag (Hot Spot Spider, Holy Terror, Shenanigans and Shilly Shally) do not have any sensible belay anchors - pack a spare rope if determined to anchor those routes. Routes at the left end have a huge pyramid block to walk the rope round, while anchors can be fashioned with initiative and patience at the right hand end.
