Approach notes

To access Valle di Mello, take highway 38 that connects Sondrio to Colico. Turn off to provincial 404 at the village of Ardenno and follow the signs for Val Masino. After St. Martin there is dirt road to Val di Mello, which leads to a large dirt parking lot by the river. There is a driving ban on this road during July and Aug (6am-6pm) but a shuttle bus runs there from the parking lot of St. Martin in the Val di Mello.

To reach Qualido - Up the main track for 10min, keeping to the left side of the valley, opposite some farmsteads a path cuts up the Valle Qualido (signed), from which the main face is clearly visible. Once level with the base, cross the stream either below or just after a clean rock band.

There is a stone shelter nearby, the 'Hotel Qualido', but lock up yer food to keep the squirrel out

Spoke to Simone Pedeferri at Bare Monica on 15th October 2018 and he told us he had heard of rockfall affecting 'Magic Line' and 'Artemisia'. He was unsure how affected they were and if they still were climbable. He recommended looking at 'Medditeraneo' and 'Melat' instead.
