Approach notes

Park at the end of the road - 5 minute walk down the track then up a stoney path.

I lived in Athens for 6 months, during which time I climbed all routes in the Fili-Area up until 6b+. Fili is a small village, easy accessible by bus from Athens (roughly a 45min ride). Depending of which crag you go to, it’s a 10-30min hike from the bus-stop… there are no signs pointing to the crags, so if you’ve never been there before, get the guide, or at least try to find some information on the area before you go. If you go by car, it’s possible to get very close to the crags, and the hike can be as little as 5-10min. 90% of the routes are well maintained, cleared of vegetation and loose rocks, and bolted really well. The Fili Area is in an valley, with beautiful climbing areas on either side, so in the winter you can go to the wall facing south, and in the summer you go to the wall facing north instead (away from the sun).
