Streitberger Schild Crag (as viewed from the beer garden) © JLS

Crag features

A small but majestic sunny crag over looking the village of Streitberg with 30m long vertical to slight overhanging routes below a ruined castle. 60m rope and 10 quickdraws adequate. Typically good resin bolts to single bolt pigs-tail. Some trad gear may be helpful for settling the nerves on the run-out easier warm-up routes. The first bolt on the shared crack start of routes Alte Taseite to Erdenkauferriss is very very high.

Approach notes

From Streitberg drive up the hill left of the crag take a sharp left up towards the castle and find a sizable car park on the left just before the castle. Walk up to the castle and find a narrow descending path through the trees by a cottage, which is sign posted back to the village. Follow the path down until level with the base of the crag where a short trail to the crag can be found on the left.
