Crag features

A nice selection of buttresses with a range of grades and easy access, just above the pretty village of Roubion. Since it is south facing you can even climb here comfortably in winter on a sunny day, despite the altitude. The site is well equipped & signposted thanks to the efforts of the village & equippers.

The site is briefly described in the Alpes Maritimes topo, but the best option is currently the very clear local topo which will be updated regularly and can be downloaded here:

http://www.lespassagersduvent.net/topo-descalade-de-roubion-alpes-maritimes/

Info also available from the village of Roubion, including how to access the Via Ferrata route at the same spot: http://www.roubion.com/escalade/

Approach notes

Walk in: See local topo. On arrival at the crag there is a board describing the routes.

Getting there: Around 1.5 hours drive from Nice, up the Tinée valley, turning off at Saint Saveur de Tinée to the village of Roubion. Go just past the village then turn hard right and uphill to the parking.

Also accessible by bus from Nice / Nice airport if you catch the line 740 to Auron and get off at St Saveur de Tinée to catch the connecting "navette" see www.lignesdazur.com (NB the navette only runs in the summer period as the "Randobus" or in the winter period as the "Bus 100% neige"  - the rest of the year you can get as far as St Saveur then you'd need to hitch the 7km up to the Roubion).

No Access Issues

Use the parking and approach described in the local topo.
