Crag features

Steep hard climbing in a remote gorge. Crags face east and west. Sector Principal enjoys sunny mornings and shade from mid afternoon, for example, in mid Nov the sun left the face by 2:30pm.

Approach notes

The access diagram in the guide is very misleading. Do not turn into Fondon village but continue on the by-pass and when you see the old bridge on the right take the steep concreted track on the left.

Continue on the tarmac section which eventually becomes a dirt track. The obvious parking area is a short distance after crossing an old bridge. About 4.5k driving.

From the parking lot, walk 90 degs from the road towards the obvious gorge on a rough track, passing the remains of an abandoned stone corral house.  This rises very gradually to become a path and goes through the ravine and the river bed, crossing it on several occasions (it only takes water with very recent rain). Approx 30 minutes walk to reach Sector Principal which appears on your right.
