Climbs 4
Rocktype Sandstone (hard)
Altitude 56m a.s.l
Faces NW
A lone boulder on the side of the Bunowen river, the Prehistoric Boulder offers short, amenable problems on its Northward face. The rock is mostly solid, but lack of traffic means that it hasn't cleaned up completely. Still, a worthwhile stop, situated just off the N59.
The approach can be boggy.
From the N59, take the small road towards Bunowen. The boulder is on the right and clearly visible from the as you drive down. It is possible to park at the roadside and then walk the short distance to the boulder. Please be considerate when parking and position your vehicle well off the road.
