Crag features
Cerro Ventana is situated 10km southwest of Bariloche overlooking lake Gutierrez. A good selection of routes from 4 to 8a+ on quality rock with some amazing views over the lake and mountains. The routes are spread out between three different areas, Vantana, Ventana Sur and Tehuelche.
Approach notes
Take Ruta 40 from Bariloche towards El Bolson and park shortly after passing Refugio Ventana in a layby on the right just before you reach a sign for the national park.
For the main Ventana sector take a trail up the hill which starts through a tunnel in the brush opposite the parking layby (small cairn).
For Ventana Sur, walk towards El Bolson until you reach a retaining wall of rock-cages. Walk along the top of these until you find the bottom of a dry gully (small cairn on the wall), head up the gully until paths appear on the left just below the walls.
No Access Issues
Take bus 41 from Bariloche until it turns onto the gravel road and continue down Ruta 40 another 500 metres until the crags are on your left.
