Summit of this hill

This summit has been climbed in no logbooks.

Hill features

Slabbed face of reasonable good quality rock and protection. Lower and high peaks both of approximately 300m height.

Good topo here.

Approach notes

Take state highway 8 past Twizel and then the road to Ohau. The road travels on the western side of Lake Ohau where a 4WD is an advantage.

Park at the temple stream carpark and hike up the Temple Stream taking the northern branch until you get to the huge basin. Head west and climb the scree to the saddle. Bruce Peak is immediately on your left and Steeple Peak is south of that. A good(ish) campsite can be found on a plateau below.

Approach time: 6 hours
