Crag features

West south west of Goathland, at New Wath Bridge, the steep sided Mallyon Valley is encrusted with nuggets of sandstone on both the south and north facing sides. The rock varies from blocky and loose to solid with perfect lines and a mixture of short trad, highballs and bouldering is possible.

Approach notes

Park in layby - space for 3 cars plus another space for two half way down the hill. Walk in to quarry - easy peasy it's road side. Access to the rest of the hillside is best approach along the river then up to your chosen buttress. The South side of the Beck is reached from the bridge following the increasingly eroded footpath.
