Crag features

The crag is completely detached from the hillside by a huge gap. Descend on the left side.

Approach notes

Park at High Wallowbarrow Farm (optional charity donation in lieu of fee) or park in small lay-by just north of Seathwaite church. From either, paths take you to the footbridge over the Duddon at the south end of Wallowbarrow Gorge. From the bridge walk up the west (true right) bank of the river (rough path). Cornflake Buttress is soon passed on the left. When the trees fall back and a big scree slope appears, Tower of Flints can be seen above. Access from the top of the scree slope up some steep and difficult vegetation.

No Access Issues

A clean white buttress towering above the gorge is conspicuous from the road approaching Seathwaite from the south. The whole buttress is completely detached from the fellside, separated by a huge crevasse. The front face is impressively steep. It is loose, dangerous and will fall down, eventually…
