Climbs 85

A short (approx 200m) face running along the side of a gravel road. Climbs range from 3m at the left side of the face to 7m towards the right and grades from 3a to 6c. The middle terraced section would make a good diversion for smaller children.
Route finding is blindingly obvious - routes are every 1-2 metres apart and a numbered metal plate is cemented to the bottom of each route with the route number on it. Bolts seem to be placed every 3 feet with belay stations at the top of every 1 or 2 climbs. The base of the face is gravelled. Altogether it gives the place a rather artificial feel and I wouldn't suggest making much of a detour for a visit.
It is, however, just behind the Maison du Vin where you can taste wines from all the local producers which justifies a visit in itself!
From the centre of Thore village follow signs to the Maison du Vin and Train Touristique. As you approach you will see a sign for the Mur d'Escalade (climbing wall) on your left. You can park directly at the bottom of the wall or park at the Maison du Vin and hop across the train track (still in use by slow trains so have a quick check!) then climb the steps to the wall.
