A well developed climbing area in the gorge just south of Bramois village, a short distance from Sion. There are several areas that have been developed on both sides of the gorge - east and west - and a large number of climbs ranging from the easy grades to challenging. The crags include numerous single pitch climbs, and plenty of multi-pitch routes that range from two to ten pitches.
July 2018 update
There has been a rockfall at the left of Arete Sud area, almost impossible to stand at the foot of some routes as it looks like the terracing has been wiped out. Locals told us the route Arete Sud has also been affected. Access path also damaged.
At least one of the guides to the crag suggests parking in the public car park in the village to avoid being ticketed. the best approach is to follow rue de La manufacture just before the bridge over the river after the 30 zone in town. Then follow Chemin creux de Nax where there is parking, or climb briefly higher up Chemin de Nax and park before restaurant des Pelerins. The approach path from here follows several shrines and then there is a sign on the left 'voies grimpe'. Follow this down and then down another broken Stoney wide track to the river solely for the main crag. 15mins.
There is currently rebuilding work around the sluice/dam below the crag, which itself looks in poor shape.
At least one of the guides to the crag suggests parking in the public car park in the village to avoid being ticketed. There are places to park beside the road to the gorge shortly before it ends, which are shaded by trees in the afternoon, but there may be a risk of getting a parking ticket!
The walk-ins to the crags are short and on well maintained paths.
