Crag features

This crag is currently under development with new routes being put up all the time. The first routes at this crag were climbed traditionally (escalada clasica) however new bolted routes have recently been placed on Zone 5. If you intend on bolting your own routes here PLEASE DO NOT BOLT EXISTING TRAD ROUTES. If you are seeking first ascents or just climbs with fantastic views of the Sierra Nevada then this place will be well worth a visit. The rock is of varying quality so beware of loose boulders and flakes.

Approach notes

The crag is visible from the valley below Jorairatar and extremely obvious. To get to the crag heading from Ugijar in the direction of Murtas, continue past the town of Jorairatar on the GR-5202. Here you will drive up a series of “zig-zag” bends. Once you have past the last tight left hand bend you will see two dirt tracks branching off to the right. Take the first of these (the second is gated). The track is currently in a bad state but is passable in a normal car if driven with caution. Follow the main track without branching off for around 1.5km. Eventually it will come to an end in the middle of an almond field, park here (so far there has been no issues). After sorting your gear, food, water and camera for the day, head westwards for 200m, scrambling over boulders to reach the main face.
