Port Laire Crag Topo © DerwentDiluted

Crag features

A nice set of little slabs and a mini-gogarth sea cliff. Conveniently near the Alligin-Diabaig path. Useless trivia about this crag, the scene in the film Highlander just after the swordfight on the Cioch, where he lands in water, was filmed here. Hamish MacInnes was climbing adviser and used this bit of cliff, he then owned the cabin in the next bay to the West. A jammed old Rock in a crack is a relic of the filming.

Approach notes

Approach as for White house crag. From the meadow west of the house head towards the bay and traverse round the headland to reach the slabs, the sea cliff is immediately below.

Lovely sun trap spot.
