Climbs 54
Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 411m a.s.l
Super steep cave, with cool climbing on pockets and small tufas. The main crag stays in the shade all day and has routes from 7a+ to 8c. There is also easier climbing on the left hand side though the rock is less sound. Bring some tape as the pockets are sharp!!
The area is located north of Kavala, approximately 2 hours from Thessaloniki. Take the main highway that goes to Kavala, and continue to the Chrisopulou junction. Leave the motorway and turn right at the junction. Follow this road, past a garage, until you see a sign for the village of Petropigi, on the right. Take the road into village, and try to find the road that leads back over the motorway, to the cemetery. Now, follow the dirt track which leads into the mountains (right of the cemetery), for around 10 mins until you reach an obvious meadow. Park here and continue up the dirt track for a few minutes until you see an obvious red-dot on a rock.
Follow the path (marked with red-dots) uphill for 20 mins until you reach the cave. Note: the dirt track is in fairly good condition but you probably wouldn't want to take your lowered sport car up there!!
