Colin Binks enjoys a bit of solitude on Fifi (6b) at Little Verdon, Arginonta Skyline © Chris Craggs

Crag features

Arginonta Skyline is the very long cliff located above the Red Wall of Arginonta. Here are the subsectors of Haut de Gorge, Ovoland, Little Verdon and Piccalia.

Approach notes

From Arginonta take the road towards Vathy for 2 km and park at a little concrete wall with red marks, the letter 'K' and a big cairn. Follow the red marks up, left of a small gully and onto a path leading leftwards to the Panagia Galatiani chapel. Eventually you reach the Little Verdon sector, with grey slab of Ovoland to the left of the large orange overhang.

Walking Time: 35mins

No Access Issues

We walked to Haute Gorge today.  In the guide book it says to go to the solitary tree and then walk to the crag which you can see below.  This is not the best advice as it is down a steep blind slope into a gully. We continued past the tree staying on the church path to the col as for kryptos. There is a ridge that runs down to the top of the cliff.  We walked on the right side of the ridge, facing down, and there were cairns. On top of the cliff it is possible to walk down either left or right to the base of the cliff.  The climbing is good, not quite as good as the guide book suggests, and it is a long way!  We walked back by crossing the gully and then contouring, still a rough walk but cut out alot of uphill.  We rejoined the path at the base of Little Verdon.

Hope this is helpful to someone.  Rob and Sara
