Great sandstone! © phleppy

Crag features

A fine collection of boulders that for years we're hidden by a small plantation. The rock is good solid sandstone and problems can reach a height of 5m. A mat is required for some problems as there are some bad landings but on the whole they're good flat heathery landings, gets the afternoon sun.

Some good problems, but seldom visited. Witches area is particulaly good. Bring a couple of pads for the tree stumps and a stiff brush on a stick as 'The Witch' and neighbouring problems are in need of a good clean (May 2021)

Approach notes

Open Access moorland, park on the main moor road at a large lay by then follow a faint quad bike trail through the heather. Some wite painted boundry stone can be seen to the left. After a while the track bends a little to the right and starts to descend. Go through the gate and some small boulders can be seen ahead. The main cluster is 50m right of these, looking out over Glaisdale (20 mins)
