Having been unable to get to Vine time (likely no more vines on that wall) I found another wall. I now regret this because, after belated research, the majority of the structures in the Charterhouse park appear to be late medieval! I am personally unhappy with myself to have climbed such historic 'rocks' - grade I or grade II* listed walls - and am instead keen to visit the charterhouse when it is reopened: historic Coventry says it was one of only 9 known Carthusian Monasteries in Britain, with wall paintings that are still visible! Considering that Coventry has a misnomer, that all of its historic sites were blitzed, I hope people also want to visit for the site's history :) Rig open Alban - 05/Jun/22 |
