Barrinha is one of the best, and more accessible sport climbing crags in Rio. It is slightly overhanging granite with routes generally in the range of 20- 35 meters. Barrinha is home to some of the harder test pieces in Rio, and although it doesn’t have too much climbing at the French 7b and under range, there are a few routes of the grade.
Bring about 14 draws and runners, and possibly some trad gear if you are planning to do some of the mixed routes.
Start at the beginning of the trail that leads up to Pedra da Gavea. After a 100m or so take a left on a smaller trail. 20mins.
