Mostly near vertical, a few overhangs especially around route No13 and 14 and 16, ramps, flakes, bouldery, very exposed in places. Challenging in places, makes you think.
Fantastic views over Briancon. Unusually flat area at the base for belaying and picnics. Very open to the sun and a bit hot in the middle of the summer but perfect in spring or autumn.
As this crag is not supported by the FFME it has not received much love for the last ten years or so, be warned, the protection is rusty and very old in places. We are rebolting it slowly.
From the Champ de Mars car park at the old town of Briancon cross the road and find the small road that leads up to the croix de Toulouse between two restaurants. At the top of this road there is a small parking area and a rough access road going up to the right, follow this and when it bends to the left continue up the steeper, narrow path after about 5 mins you will top out on a wider road. the Falaise du Salettes is in front of you. Should you wish to explore the fort du Salettes it is just a minute to your right.
