Crag features

Manley Knoll is a charming little spot nestled in a delightful secluded woodland, offering a small selection of problems across the grade spectrum. More of a locals spot but is worth a visit to break up the drive to/from North Wales as it sits just off the M56.

There one or two flashes of real quality to be found by the avid boulderer including the striking highball arete Manley Virtues and the impressive wall of Owls Choice, both of which have become area classics.

For those that perfer things a little steeper and lower to the ground, the small cave on the right side of the cave contains some good quality problems with link ups a'plenty to go at.

Approach notes

With obvious parking before the hill drops. Park up and walk down the road about 150m, and cut through the small wall to walk uphill 100m to the obvious sandstone climbing. Approach time 5mins. It's suggested that permission to climb should be asked from Manley Knoll House - private land.

The land owners (very nice and approachable people) are happy with climbers, however they want you to contact them before you go as they don't want to stumble across a body at the bottom of the crag. Email - james@timpson.com

Restricted Access

There is no right of access - keep a low profile, be polite to anyone you meet and leave if asked to. No noise, no litter.

Lost chalk brush… one of a kind… reenforced bamboo stick with a brush strapped on using tape. Please contact me if you come across it. Very sentimental haha. Email : underwoodhenry@aol.com

Apparently privately owned and the owner would appreciate people letting her know if they are going up there. She lives at the big house (also called Manley Knoll) just past the Knoll on the left (from the North). [From UKB]

Turns out Manley Knoll is on private land and the owner requests you let them know if you're climbing there. She lives at the big house (called Manley Knoll) just past the Knoll on the left (coming from the North).
