Crag features

Various crags (some overhanging) mainly on the West side although there are some on the East side, along the stream bank in a sheltered river 'gorge' towards the motorway / railway end of the clough. still in need of cleaning.

Approach notes

Park at the Mill Hill picnic car park in Huncoat / Hapton, walk down to the road and cross the ford. Head up the hill 50 yards and take the footpath heading off on the left(grit bin). Follow this path down the along the stream (several crossings are required) until the crags are reached. Numerous small crags on both sides of the stream with the majority on the West side. There may be closer parking in Hapton itself.

I freed the route up the main face last night. Think its e1 5b if anyone wants to get on and give a second opinion I'll be around to belay as I live close by. I'm on 07732245973. We could work the arête too- I think it will go at e1 or e2.

A friend and me climbed there a couple of times when we were younger as it was close to home, There used to be a couple of pegs hammered in half way up and a good tree at the top for beylaying

there's quite a lot of potential up there i will be going up on friday to clean a few and hopefully climb too :)

A tree has recently come done further up the Clough exposing another promising corner. I'll try and get some pics and post.

has anybody climbed this ? i have been trying to find it for a while but end up at the quarry in hapton :) im going today to see what its like :)

The clough is an atmospheric place, and makes for a nice short walk. Most of the rock looks pretty crumbly, with the exception of the Main Wall, which just might yield a few routes and boulder problems.
