Crag features

The quarry sits above Mill Brow, near Marple Bridge. Usually about 10m in height and runners are often hard to place making some of the climbs quite serious.

Most of the quarry has either collapsed, disintegrated or been buried under piles of landfill dropped in from the top. What little rock remains upright is either covered with a liberal sprinkling of moss and other greenery, or is guarded at its top by a pile of tottering choss, not dissimilar in appearance to an unmaintained drystane wall.

The exception to this is the first buttress on the right (when entering the quarry from the north. Here there is a rusty wall which could provide some reasonable bouldering; and a little further on lies the diamond in the rough - a clean cut, reasonably well protected arête, which is free of greenery and should dry quickly.

The routes on either side of the arête, although mossy in places, do look climbable.
