Bouldering at the Thirlstane © Sean Bell

Crag features

A small but excellent sandstone buttress in the middle of a nice beach.

Please remember sandstone is fragile so avoid climbing it when wet  and  working routes to death. Also make sure your shoes are clean before climbing.

Lovely seaside location, relaxed TR set up if required and great bouldering. Arête is the route - great fun. Not very tidal at all and various descents possible.

Even at high tide today the sea was still not at the mouth of the cave. I think only in the biggest spring tides or stormy conditions would the bouldering be affected

Great all weather bouldering at all grades.
