Crag features

A drastically steep buttress containing a handful of sickening challenges. However, while the sight is impressive, the rock is a bit disappointing and loose, which adds a layer of seriousness to a crag that simply doesn't need it.

The walls face north and west. The north wall is a little greener and takes a while to dry. The west wall gets some late afternoon and evening sun.

Approach notes

On the B5032 go south at Threapwood, by The Highwayman Pub. Pass 2 farms on the left, and park at a recessed gate 400m after the second (Lightoaks Farm). This gate is by some pools, and some 1.3 miles from The Highwayman. Go over the gate and at 20m, where the track bends, head diagonally left then direct up to some crags. Contour their base leftwards for 200m to the main crag.

Crikey! The drawing in staffs guide doesn't do this a slight bit of justice - it's completely outrageously overhanging and possibly the most impressive butress in staffordshire. Also like the fact that the start to Moov Over involves walking on the rock for a few feet. I managed those moves...
