Crag features

Single pitch routes on a mix of grey and orange limestone.

A good hilltop crag, well worth a visit. It has a superb peaceful location and great rock. There are some good 4's and many good 5's and 6's. There are a few good looking low to mid 7's, but the crag is not worth visiting for these alone. About 60 routes in total, most 20m to 30m in length.
The climbing is mostly wall or slab and off vertical. The rock of sector 1 on the left is rough and crimpy while the centre section has superb sculpted featured rock.
About one third of the routes have names and grades at their base so a visit without a topo is feasible.
The crag main crag faces SSW. In April the left hand end (sector Punta) came into the sun at about 11.30am and the centre section (sector Central) got shade until about 10.30am. The sector Initiation at the extreme right faces more SE and gets morning sun, coming into the shade in late afternoon.

Approach notes

Take the CV10 (free) motorway heading north past Castello de la Plana and get off at the Borriol north exit. From the roundabout follow a small road north running parallel to the motorway past the Hermita de Sant Vincent. Keep going for about 1.5km with the motorway to your left until you see a small bridge ahead crossing the motorway. Turn right here, the small road goes to a picnic area and playground, bends to the right, then left and crosses the river. From here follow the singletrack tarmaced road through the small orchards for about 2km (I think). The parking is obvious on the right having just crossed a narrow concrete bridge. There is a sign Aparcamiento de Escalada. Walk a further 100m up the road and take a 90° right on a track named Raco de Farol, heading towards the crag. There are signs pointing the way to the crag further up the track. You pass a bizarre sculpture in the trees, superhero torso with a wild boar head. 20 minutes walk from the parking.
