Me atop Oldridge Pinnacle, having done the easiest VS 4a ever (a typo perhaps, S 4a would be about right) © cider nut

Crag features

A gritstone obelisk standing amidst lush open fields. There are no easy routes here and the hardest are esoteric classics of their type. These tough extremes, however will give well-spotted and well-padded boulderers a handful of superb highballs, all above a perfect landing.

The north-facing side is very green and uninviting. The south side gets a lot of sun, and is where the better climbing is. Sheltered, and climbable all year.

Approach notes

Take a left turn half a mile after passing through Whiston. This track leads to a farm tucked in alongside the pinnacle. Ask the farmer for permission to climb as a matter of courtesy. A path leads from here to Harston Rock, a few hundred metres away.
