Though it has been climbed on for years, it is only since 2008 that access has been open to climbers. This is a very esoteric location that has a few good problems and a lot of green and dirty ones. Most will need brushing prior to an ascent but after a long spell of dry weather they should come into condition.
Park in the car park opposite the quarry site. Follow the large path that leads down towards Birchover, and immediately head right along a small path. Stick close to the wall and you will shortly arrive at the Leaning Block boulder. Alternatively there is a path that starts in the corner of the car park.
Really cool little destination. Went today and plan to go again soon and clean some of the problems that are dirty (eyes to the skies, green chapel etc) These problems are some of the best lines around and the more ascents they recieve the cleaner they will become. Highly recomended. nathanlee - 07/Aug/11 |
