Crag features

The quarried walls of Stainland offer good rock and well-spaced gear. The western area is home to short pinnacles. The eastern quarry has been left untouched.

After a flurry of development in the 80's, activity died down all together once the climbing walls came into fashion.

The belay stakes are in good nick and there's no shortage of appropriate trees. A convenient location for practising group abseils or top rope soloing.

Approach notes

Park in the free car park on Stainland Road. Approach across the length of the recreation ground until a path takes you down to the quarried bays. The western bay is reached first.
