The info in the BMC access notes is slightly incorrect. The e-mail address is enquiries@field-studies-council.org
Phone number is now01539 538120.
Castle Head Field centre, who negotiated access and placed the bolts, use the crag frequently and should be phoned before going to the crag to avoid overcrowding. (015395 34300).
Also ESSENTIAL to get permission for access from the farmer who lives just north of the crag - THERE IS NO RIGHT OF ACCESS TO THE CRAG AND IT IS NOT ON ACCESS LAND. Rog Wilko - 06/Aug/14 |

Great slab for practicing abseiling as the top of the crag has extensive bolts and the face has a steady angle all the way down.Would be most usefull as a place to top rope beginners or children as the actual face has 4 crack lines from top to bottom to follow though there is minimal protection in only 2 of the cracks as they are shallow and flare outwards. Also the bottom is very polished until roughly 4ft upwards. simonty1 - 24/Aug/06 |
