Cats Tor/ Oldgate Nick © davidj

Crag features

This pleasant isolated buttress, also known as Cat's Tor, is visible from the road junction above half a mile south of Windgather Rocks.

Approach notes

Approach from the junction via the path that leads along the ridge to Cat's Tor proper and Shining Tor.

No Access Issues

Oldgate Nick is approx half a mile south of Wingather Rocks, the main feature of which is a large roof climbed by Catapult (E5).

Nice for a quick hit after work. Feels exposed even though it not that high. Bouldering on the right is really good. Ignore the comments about the E5 being a boulder problem, the lip is about 8m up and you'd fall onto your back!
