Climbs 6
Rocktype Sandstone (hard)
Altitude 186m a.s.l
Faces all
The old sandstone railway pillar that you see on the Strathaven side of the Stonehouse Road provides good bouldering with the options of top roping the faces if you are not bold enough for the highball game!
The climbs are all crimpy with much emphasise on footwork and good technique. The pillar provides some nice flowing climbing and is an ideal wee training venue where you can make up your own problems/traverses.
Access is via walk in down the old railway line from the Glassford Road.
access is questionable, with this climb being on private farm land, access from stonehouseroad means treking through boggy mashland, no signs of recent climbing when i went in 18/10/10 (no chalk marks etc.
if you have lemons make lemonade, but you always need a bit of fizz andymiddy36 - 18/Oct/10 |
