Crag features

3m - 4m Boulder problems set in a 1800's ornamental grotto overlooking the very tip of Whiteknights Lake, set amongst the trees of the Wilderness woodlands.

A boulder mat, spotter and non-boulder brush is advisable due to the nature of the climbs and possible accumulation of rubbish over time.

Approach notes

The crag is situated on the site of a spring at the southern tip of Whiteknights Lake. It is just off the main path in the wilderness which leads from Plant Science to the Agriculture Buildings. The land is owned by the University of Reading so permission should technically be sought before climbing, although it is open access.

Please keep chalk use to a minimum as this area is visible to dog walkers and other users.

If you fancy a chilled session and live locally this is a worthwhile visit, but dont expect a long, hard session out of it. When I've been there we just make up routes to suite our difficulty, including/excluding specific holds.

Not a bloody crag by any stretch of the imagination, and should not be in the database.
