Fun artificial outdoor boulder produced by Bendcrete in 1998/9 (?) and is more extensive than the one in Crookesmoor. The surface aims to be a cross between gritstone and limestone. The original problems use colour-coded dots, similar to the Fontainbleau system but these have almost all faced now.
A second boulder was added to the park in Novemebr 2012, designed by Al Williams and built by Zig Zag Climbing Walls Ltd. This boulder is inspired by quarried gritstone and the design is targeted at dedicated climbers.
A wiki detailing these and other boulders around Sheffield is located at sheffieldboulder.uk
Situated in Heeley Millennium Park. Short walk in, good parking!
I've started a wiki documenting the artificial boulders around Sheffield...
