Crag features

Great bouldering scattered throughout the incredible setting of Corrie Bonhard, situated high in the valley of Glen Clova. There appears to be alot of Trad potential as well.

Those who are keen to visit; there are plenty of new boulders to clean and first ascents to be had. The boulders however, are an effort to clean given the nature of the ball-bearing like lychen that grows on them... You use alot more smearing and random foot placement than you realise. You'll notice when you stand on areas that aren't clean!

But, the rock cleans up brilliantly and yields some fantastic problems with great features and good friction.

Approach notes

The walk is gruelling, and most certainly not for the faint-hearted!... However, the effort is more than worth it.

Park in the little parking bay on the right-side of the road. On the approach you will see a large fenced off area on the hill-side, with a stream running through it. Upon your ascent, stick to the left hand side of the fence.

All in all, depending on fitness, the walk will take between 25-45 minutes (all up a 30-45 degree slope). Bare this in mind when you are planning on how many pads/bags to take. It's tough, but worth it!

THERE IS OFTEN A RESTRICTION DUE TO NESTING BIRDS FROM FEBRUARY TO AUGUST EACH YEAR - CHECK THE MCOFS WEB SITE FOR DETAILS

Hi Tom, I'm going to post up pictures of various sectors, as well as individual blocs. It would be a bit of a nightmare finding stuff otherwise. Hopefully I should get them up this week. Cheers, Kris.
