Binny Craig. © Cobbler

Crag features

Main Binny Crag is friable and very limited.Heading east between the two peaks there are some bouldering walls. Above the pond on the north side there are some pillars but you would need acccess through the gorse. Topo for the main face here https://www.scottishclimbs.com/wiki/Binny_Craig.html

On the approach path to Binny turn left at the start of the stone steps- Cow crag has three butresses. The crag is hidden on your RHS as you walk in from the road and look for a wooden stile just before the rock steps, on the right. Main Binnie crag. After you ascend up the stone steps you will see the Binnie crag come in to view,

Hanging Wood Slab - after the steps and gap handrail the left handside fence and cross at the corner post. Turn left and your atop the Hangin Wood side slab. Base needs gorse cut back. Climb anywhere up to HVS, Mainly clear of vegetation. Sunny bleached rock in the evening.

Approach notes

Either park in Ecclesmachan and walk up the road and in or find a layby. If going in via 'Hangside Wood' it has no real path and you have to cross a bog. Although it has a sign post ! Best parking is west of the path to Binnie, over the crest of the hill, 3 cars space.
