Climbs 10
Rocktype Sandstone (hard)
Altitude 90m a.s.l
Faces SW
Just off the south ridge of Meall Dearg, with a superb outlook over the Summer Isles. Two areas: a dome-shaped slab of clean rock at the south end, and a buttress 100m left (north) with a blunt arete and a capped corner to its left. Route descriptions for the slab routes can be found at https://www.smc.org.uk/climbs/newroutes/
Park at the top of the hill 200m S of the turning to Dornie (NB 992104). From the junction, walk 100m down the Dornie road, cross the moor along the line of an old wall and climb directly up cross ing an old fence to where the angle eases. Contour left to reach the ridge, where the slab area lies just on the far side. 15 mins. From the foot of the slab, traverse about 100m left across the hillside to reach the arete routes. The crag can also be approached from Old Dornie harbour via a rising traverse rightwards across the hillside, keeping below a line of broken outcrops, passing the arete area first.
