Crag features

Mostly trad routes up to 150m, with some sport routes and bouldering. Excellent hard sandstone which is climbable in the rain. Climbers from around the world come to Suesca.

The sport routes can be sparsely bolted and more often than not are really mixed routes. The grades can be quite tough. An excellent crag that is very popular at weekends.

Approach notes

Located 45km north of Bogota. To get there take a local bus to La Playa from the main bus terminal or the terminal norte of the trans millenio get off. Take another bus to Suesca and get off at the Entrada to las Rocas and follow the train tracks 2km to the camping. The first crag is encountered 500m from the railway tracks.

Brilliant venue for multipitch cragging. The lower grade sport is heinously polished. But most the longer tad lines are well worth it. Full rack needed. The 2021 guidebook is essential.

The nearest climbing area to Bogota.Hard sandstone so just like Harrisons really, except not every edge has been rubbed smooth and occasionally holds fall off. Very cosmopolitan and laid back. The cafe is up there with Terry's Festerhaunt in a Bogotano way.
