Col de Morgins (Left Centre) © 10biscuits

Crag features

Single crag area providing 50 routes of sport climbing of all difficulties, ranging from 10m to 30m. Be aware there is plenty of loose rock on routes nearer the centre of the crag. If you've got helmets, bring them!

PLEASE NOTE - The information provided here is from the info board at the crag itself; as far as I am aware the crag is not in a guidebook at the moment, and therefore some of the grades for the harder climbs are vague (to say the least). Any route above F5+ is marked as 6a+ for convenience here, but may be a harder grade.

NOTE: Following a major rockfall at the centre of the crag the local mayor has now forbidden climbing on the entire crag. This is likely to be due to the risk to passing cars and also the liability to climbers themselves.

Approach notes

Situated on the only road between Chatel and Morgins (Route de France, D22) you will find the crag between the French and Swiss border control, just off the road on the left if you are heading from Chatel direction. Parking is situated on the opposite side of the road from the crag.

Yes I can confirm that the crag is now drastically altered in the centre section, and the signs advise you to not climb at all. In my opinion the left hand side of the crag would still be fine where the rock is nice and solid... at your own risk!!

This crag is now closed after half of it fell down during the winter! Best Avoided or wear a good helmet.
