One of the best lines on the Aberdeen sea cliffs? Animal is much steeper than it looks on this photo. © Smelly Fox
A collection of grassy humps, mounds, micro-summits and stacks with steep walls, directly seaward of the small settlement of Downies. The Stack can be very pleasant at low tide on a sunny day, whilst the Gorilla's Head has more dramatic fare that might require a pre-placed anchor rope right over the summit.
Parking is limited in Downies, so please be considerate when parking in the village so as not to block access for local residents and other traffic.
Birds can be a problem on top of The Stack and loitering during the nesting season.
