βeta: As the sun came onto the right-hand side of the gully (midmorning?), a fringe of large icicles started dropping, making the approach hazardous. We were safe higher up, but on descent Dave was battered by falling ice and had his helmet smashed, so worth getting on there early or late in the day when the sun is off it?
